About Me

Hey!

I’m Charlotte.

Most people call me Char.

FYI my arms not actually this long, it’s forced perspective. I think.

I live on the Norfolk-Suffolk border with my partner Matt, a film-maker and Record Label owner.

Our house is in the sweet spot between the Norfolk Broads and the Suffolk Coast. I fully believe I’m living in the East Anglian version of The OC.

Aside from loving coastal life, we are servants to our opulent British Shorthair cat, Tishy. Tishy believes he’s royalty and we both support him in this delusion.

Even though he’s a Norfolk boy, we met in Glasgow. Matt was on his way to review a Kurt Vile gig at The Barrowlands for a music mag. He went for a drink with me instead. I must have held his attention to at least the degree that Kurt Vile would have because it’s now ten years (and five houses) later. In this photo we’re in the Atlas mountains in North Africa. The smile is one of shock; we’d just been taken through waterfall rapids at breakneck speed. The captain of our boat didn’t tell us this was going to happen. Apparently he didn’t know this was going to happen either.

I’ve taken the scenic route back to Suffolk, having lived in Camden, Muswell Hill, Hackney, Whitstable, all over Glasgow and briefly in Brooklyn, NY. My life has afforded me incredible experiences and opportunities to travel, but the beauty of the Suffolk coast always called me home.

In 2015 I entered a competition in Marie Claire to become a new Curve Model.

It was judged by Jamila Jamil. Two weeks after entering, I boarded a plane to New York to shoot my first commercial with the other finalists. I won a modelling contract with a top agency and spent my twenties travelling the world, working as a full-time model. You may have seen me in Mango, Body Shop, River Island, Oasis, Long Tall Sally, SimplyBe, Phase Eight, Evans, in multiple TV adverts or even in Italian Vogue. Dah-ling.

When I’m not shooting, I spend a LOT of time in theatres. Not just lurking about but performing, directing, writing or watching shows. If I’m not at the theatre, you’ll find me in a café, at the cinema or on an epic coastal walk.

I love cats, pizza, adventures, B-movie horror films, sea-side towns, design, folklore, genealogy and post-apocalyptic books (and Matt - he asked me to put that in).
